Lower Extremity Pro-section: (7 Contact Hours)
Utilizing two pre-dissected cadavers, a study of the major structures of the lower extremity from hip to plantar surface of the foot.
Upper Extremity Pro-section: (7 Contact Hours)
An in-depth study of the componants of the shoulder complex, thoracic articulations, arm, forearm, and hand. All tissues are pre-disscted to highlight the most structures possible.
Anterior Thorax and Viscera Pro-section: (14 Contact Hours)
A two day workshop exploring the muscles and bones of the anterior thorax and clavicular region before moving on to the viscera. There will be views of the thoracic and abdominal contents in-situ as well as a more specific study of each major pre-dissected organ.
Posterior Throrax Pro-section: (7 Contact Hours)
The back is studied from the posterior distal half of the cervical region down to the coccyx and SI joints. Each muscle layer of the spine will be explored as well as the articulations of the scapula and spinal segments.
Neck, Head, and Brain Pro-section: (7 Contact Hours)
The intricacies of the muscles of the neck and head will be studied as well as the central nervous system. As with all other pro-section workshops, the superficial and deep aspects will be displayed and interactions will be discussed. **Due to the sensative nature of this workshop, there is a pre-requisite of attending any other pro-section before being admitted. **Courses are approved by College of Massage Therapists BC, College of Chiropractors BC, BCRPA
Full Cadaver Dissection: (42 contact hrs)
A 6 day participant driven exploration of the entire body. This is a hands-on full body dissection. Chris Hagey will be guiding the work but all participants will be performing the dissection. Somatic Explorations prefers to view anatomy in an integral fashion and views the body in layers as opposed to the traditional regional approach. This allows participants to see how structure is interconnected throughout the entire body.
